You can book seat reservations through the DiscoverEU Travel app. The app opens Interrail Self-Service, where you complete your booking.
How do I open Interrail Self-Service?
- From the Planner: search for your journey and tap Book seat reservations.
- From More: go to More > Seat reservations, choose the country and tap Book with Interrail.
How do I book?
- Log in with the same email address you use for your Pass.
- Enter your departure and arrival stations. The results show Included if you don't need a seat reservation, or Seat reservations required if you do.
- Choose the seat type (there's usually only one option) and add it to your cart.
- Go to your cart, tap Checkout and follow the steps. Your seat reservation credits are used first. After that, you pay for any extra seat reservations yourself.
Tip: book a maximum of 4 trains per order. If you need more, make several smaller orders to avoid errors.
How seat reservation credits work | What seat reservation fees can I expect?
Note: if you take part in DiscoverEU through a local organisation, you may not receive seat reservation credits. In that case, the information about credits doesn't apply to you.
Where do I find my tickets?
Once your order is confirmed, you'll get a confirmation email.
- E-tickets are attached to the email. You can also find them in your Interrail account and in the app under More > Seat reservations > Your bookings.
- Paper tickets are sent to your address by post. You'll get a tracking code when they're on their way.
Paper tickets take time to arrive, so order them well in advance. If it's too close to your departure, you'll see an error message before checkout. In that case, you can buy the seat reservation at the station instead, if seats are still available.
