If you are planning a trip to North Macedonia or Bosnia and Herzegovina, please note that these countries are not included in the planner. This does not mean that you can't travel there, you`ll just need to plan your trip differently by following the guides below.
Check out the Rail Network Guide: Open the Rail Network Guides in the travel app to understand how train travel works in each country. You’ll find details on available routes, whether seat reservations are needed, and links to the national train operators. You can find the guides under ‘More’, then go to ‘Travel info’ and scroll to the relevant country.
Find a train itinerary: Check the website of the national railway company for up-to-date train times and routes. You can find the correct operator link in the Rail Network Guide or via the Interrail overview of railway companies.
Add the train to your Pass: Once you’ve found a train you want to take, you can add it manually to your Pass. Enter a station that isn’t available in the planner, then select the option to “add journey manually.” Fill in the train details in the short form and save it. Your journey will then appear in your “My Trip” section in the app, where you can activate it like any other trains.
Note: If your train requires a seat reservation, make sure to arrange this before boarding. You can find reservation details in the Rail Network Guide. If you want more information on seat reservations, you can check out this article
Tip: Be sure to check the Pass Benefits for these countries as well. Some of these countries might not have international train connections as of now, and your Pass can offer certain discounts on alternative means of transport.
