Your DiscoverEU Interrail Pass must be verified at least once every 24 hours to ensure its validity and help prevent fraud.
To keep your Pass active, open the DiscoverEU Travel App while connected to the internet at least once every 24 hours. The app does not update automatically in the background.
We'll send you a notification before your 24 hours are up so you have time to find an internet connection. To receive these reminders, make sure notifications are enabled for the DiscoverEU Travel App.
Some trains in Europe, especially high-speed services, offer onboard Wi-Fi. It may be useful to check if this option is available while travelling.
Note: The Wi-Fi signal must be stable or at least 3 bars or higher for the verification to work.
If you don't open the app while connected to the internet for more than 24 hours, your DiscoverEU Interrail Pass will become inactive. While your Pass is inactive, you won't be able to use it until you reconnect to the internet and open the app again. Your saved trips and journeys will not be affected.
Once you're back online, it may take a few minutes for your Pass to become active again. Keep the app open until the reactivation is complete.
If you're connected to the internet but still can't connect to the app, try these troubleshooting steps:
- Close and reopen the app.
- Restart your device.
- Delete and reinstall the app.
- Make sure you're not connected to a VPN.
If you're still unable to connect to the app, please contact the DiscoverEU Travel Team.
