My Trip and My Pass work together in the DiscoverEU Travel app. In My Trip, you save the trains you want to take. In My Pass, you see your Pass details and the QR codes you show on the train.
What is My Trip?
My Trip is where all the trains you save in the Planner are stored.
You can create extra trips by tapping + at the top right, for example to compare different routes. But only one trip is connected to your Pass: the one with the passport icon and your name below it. When you've chosen your final route, save those trains to that trip.
Tap the three dots next to a trip's name to:
- Edit the name of your trip.
- Duplicate the trip, for example to try out a different route. The copy is not connected to your Pass.
- Show in widget to add your trip to your phone's home screen for quick access.
How do I add trains to my Pass?
Tap your trip to see all the trains you've saved. To add another train, tap + Add another journey. This takes you to the Planner. How the Planner works
Once your Pass is activated, tap the QR code symbol next to a train to add it to your Pass. If you haven't activated a Travel Day for that date yet, the app will ask you to do so. If you have, you'll see it next to the date above the train. How to add a journey to your Pass
If the train goes in or through your home country, the app will ask if you want to use your outbound or inbound journey. Learn more about travelling in your home country
Only add trains when you're sure you'll travel. Once you add a train to your Pass, that Travel Day counts as used, even if you don't travel. Changed your mind? See "What if my plans change?" below.
How do I share or view my trip?
Tap the three dots at the top right of your trip to:
- Share as image: send a picture of your route on a map. This is handy if you contact the DiscoverEU Travel Team.
- Share as link: share your train details, for example with family so they can follow your trip.
- Edit trip: change the name of your trip.
Your trip is shown as a list by default. Tap View on map to see your whole route on a map of Europe. Under Statistics, you'll find fun facts about your trip that you can share on social media or keep as a memory.
What can I see in My Pass?
Open My Pass and tap your Pass to see its details.
Here you'll see your name, Pass type, Pass number and the dates your Pass is valid. Tap the details button next to your name to see your passport details and home country. If anything is wrong, please contact the DiscoverEU Travel Team.
You can also see how many Travel Days and outbound and inbound journeys you have left. Used Travel Days include every Travel Day you've activated, in the past or the future. If you cancel a future Travel Day, it's added back to your total.
Where do I find my QR codes?
Below your Travel Day count, you'll see the numbers 1 to 7. Each number is one of your Travel Days.
- For a Travel Day you haven't used yet, tap Add a journey. This takes you to My Trip, where you can add trains to your Pass.
- For a Travel Day with trains added, tap Show ticket to open the QR code you show to the ticket inspector. How ticket inspection works
What if my plans change?
What you can change depends on when you make the change:
- Before your Travel Day starts (before 00:00 local time): you can change your trains or cancel the Travel Day completely.
- On the Travel Day itself (for example, today): you can't cancel the Travel Day anymore, but you can still change your trains. Remove the old trains from your Pass and add the new ones.
- After the Travel Day has ended: you can't make any changes.
Not travelling at all on a future Travel Day? Remove the trains from your Pass in My Trip, then tap Cancel travel day in My Pass. Removing the trains alone doesn't give you the Travel Day back.
Changing your start date? First cancel any Travel Days you've scheduled, then deactivate your Pass and activate it again straight away with your new date. Your Pass must stay activated, or it will be cancelled. How to change your dates | Why your Pass must stay activated
