Your DiscoverEU Interrail Pass gives you free or discounted travel on several ferry routes in Europe. See which ferries are included in Pass Benefits
Do I need to use a Travel Day?
- Free ferry: yes. Just like a train, a free ferry uses one of your 7 Travel Days. A free night ferry only uses one Travel Day.
- Discounted ferry (you pay part of the price): no Travel Day is needed. Your Pass just needs to be valid on that day, which means within the 1 month from your start date.
Free and discounted tickets are usually for a standard seat or deck place. You may still need to pay extra, for example for port fees, seasonal surcharges or a cabin.
How do I book a ferry?
How you book depends on the ferry company. You can usually book online, by phone or email, or at the ticket desk at the port. Check the ferry's details in Pass Benefits or on Interrail's ferry page to see how to book it.
With some ferry companies, you buy your ticket with the discount already included. With others, you pay the full price and the ferry company refunds the discount afterwards.
Please note: ferries can't be booked in the DiscoverEU Travel app, so you can't use your seat reservation credits for them. How seat reservation credits work
