This article will briefly introduce you to this travel product, so you can see if it's right for your adventure!
How to use the Interrail mobile Pass?
If you choose the DiscoverEU FLEX travel option, you will receive an Interrail Global Pass via e-mail. You will be able to use it via the DiscoverEU Travel App on your smartphone, and create your day tickets through this app (Apple/ Android). This means that all the conditions of an Interrail Global Pass will apply. You will be able to travel on 7 days of your choice within a validity period of one month, which you can schedule when activating your Pass. For more details on how to get started with your Pass, check out this article.
With the Interrail Global Pass, you can travel by train within and across 33 different European countries. You can travel at your own pace on trains operated by the national railway companies, as well as several private operators. We have created convenient travel guides for the use of the Pass in each country, which you can find in the app.
You can use your Interrail ticket as a normal ticket, so you simply board the train and show the day's QR-code available in the DiscoverEU Travel App when asked from a ticket-inspector. If you want to travel on more luxurious trains, such as high-speed or overnight services, a seat reservation ticket might also need to be shown. These need to be booked separately, and come at varying price levels. However, these fees can easily be avoided by following these tips should you prefer to skip the additional expenses.
